Gold Coast Blaze Update
The Gold Coast Blaze Basketball team are currently sitting at number 8 in the ladder with 14 games played – 7 won and 7 lost.
The Blaze have had a strategy to rotate and share the captaincy. The strategy was always going to include a moment when the players and coaches assessed how the Captains had gone and appointed them on a permanent basis for the rest of the season. That moment has come. Pero Cameron, Scott McGregor and James Harvey have been appointed as Co-captains for the rest of the 2007/08 season. The shared captaincy principle is not a new one. Brendan has made no secret of the fact that he has liked what the Sydney Swans have done with it in the AFL. He said he loves the idea and that it takes the pressure off one person and enables the group to get the best traits from three different people. Pero, James and Scottie all have special captaincy skills and have the utmost respect of the group for what they have achieved throughout their careers.
