Fluffy is the Sunday evening event held at the Family Nightclub in Brisbane. The name 'Fluffy' comes from the main character and mascot's name for the weekly event.
Fluffy came to i4U requiring artwork for their A0 and A3 posters as well as their A5 double-sided flyers. The posters should encompass the vibrant and fun side of their themed events as well as the sometimes dark and mysterious subject matter of the monthly series.
i4U wanted to make all the Fluffy characters more realistic, have their own personality and style. The goal was to make people relate to the characters, have a favourite or whose personality was similar to their own. We achieved this by incorporating a series of character profiles, where each character had their own star sign, hobbies, jobs and background.
We use a special illustration style for the Fluffy characters. This makes them appear more life-like and real. To create this life-like look, more attention was paid to the shading and highlighting to skin tones and fabric. The characters' faces were kept consistent across each artwork, so they were easily recognisable to the viewers.
The latest monthly series, Super heroes, goes through the various comic strip super heroes and is presented as a comic book cover.
All the artwork has had very positive feedback from the Fluffy organiser and the regulars at the Fluffy events.
